Most referrals to other specialists will require you seeing or speaking with a GP. However, there are a number of local services, listed below, that you are able to make self referrals to.
Be Healthy Bucks
Be Healthy Bucks is a free health and wellbeing service that can make a real difference to your patient’s quality of life.
Blood Tests (Phlebotomy)
Your doctor may have told you that you need a blood test. You can book with your GP Practice Nurse or self book online at an NHS Bucks Hospital.
Podiatry self-referral services
Podiatry can treat people who have a medical/podiatric problem that puts your foot at risk of deterioration. Conditions include: painful corns and callus, ingrowing toe nails and foot ulcers.
Eligible patients can now directly access NHS podiatry services, through the Bucks Healthcare website without needing to go via their GP.
Audiology Self-Referral
If you find you are becoming hard of hearing or struggling to hear what others are saying to you, it might be pertinent to be referred to audiology.
Currently, patients can self-refer to audiology to seek help with their hearing using the Audiology Self-Referral Form as advised by the Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire Age Related Hearing Loss Service.
Sexual Health Buckinghamshire
Buckinghamshire Sexual Health and Wellbeing (bSHaW) offers a free, confidential service to meet the sexual health needs of all.

NHS Buckinghamshire Talking Therapies (formerly Healthy Minds) is an NHS psychological service which was established in 2008.
Buckinghamshire CAMHS
Bucks CAMHS are specialist mental health services for children and young people provided by the NHS.
Musculoskeletal self-referral Physiotherapy services
Musculoskeletal (MSK) physiotherapists assess and treat problems with muscle, bone and joints that may cause pain, stiffness and/or disability.
The team provide specialist assessment followed by expert advice and treatment for a wide range of service for any joint and muscular related problems
All eligible patients can now directly access NHS physiotherapy services, through our new self-referral service without needing to go via their GP.
Patients under the age of 16 years will need a clinical referral.
